We get asked this all the time: “Can’t you just drop a fiberglass shell in the ground? It’s faster.”
Yes, it’s faster. But we don’t do it. As premier custom pool builders in Boca Raton, we only build with Gunite (concrete). Here is why we refuse to compromise.
Fiberglass pools come on a truck. They are the shape they are. If your yard has a weird slope, or you want to wrap the pool around a patio, fiberglass can’t do it.
With concrete, we dig the specific shape needed for your property. We can build around corners, trees, or tight setbacks that would make a fiberglass installer quit.
Walk barefoot on a fiberglass pool. It feels like… well, a bathtub. It’s slippery and looks synthetic.
Now walk on a Gunite pool with a PebbleTec finish. It feels like natural stone. It looks like a lagoon. If you are spending this kind of money, you want it to feel substantial, not like a giant toy.
Our sun is intense. Our soil is sandy. Concrete pools are reinforced with a steel cage (rebar). They are structural beasts that handle the ground shifting better than a lightweight shell that can sometimes “pop” if the water table gets too high.
We build pools for the next 20 years, not just for next summer. Check out our concrete pool gallery.
